In recent years the educational model has converged to an international perspective and many students have taken advantage of the excellent opportunities available to study, for a period of 3 to 6 months, in a university in another country of the European Union. This period of study in a foreign university gives students valuable experience in a new environment with challenges and rewards. Besides the obvious advantages over the improvement of language skills, participants can acquire new scientific and cultural references that will enable them to participate more effectively in a European academic/industrial environment. Students of the University of Minho have opportunity to participate in mobility programs supported by the International Relations Office of the University.

Erasmus+ program

The Erasmus+ program is a community action program in the field of learning throughout life that offers students the possibility of effecting a period of study/training in another University/European company with academic recognition (as part of the study program of home university) or without academic recognition (in the case of internships or internships for recent graduates).
Mobility for Erasmus+ may occur according to the following frameworks:
- Erasmus study: conducting a study period in another European partner university;
- Erasmus internship: development of an internship in a business environment.
It is worth mentioning that students can benefit from these two frameworks, even in the same school year. This constitutes additional opportunities for international mobility.
The Department of Chemistry currently has bilateral agreements with different partner universities in several countries, namely, Austria, Spain, France, Greece, Italy, Turkey, Sweden, England, Czech Republic, among others.
Departmental Coordinator: Isabel Correia Neves (ineves@quimica.uminho.pt)
The International Relations Office (SRI) (gri@gri.uminho.pt), organizes information sessions during the application period, in order to clarify doubts regarding mobility programs. For more information, contact the Departmental Coordinator or the SRI.
