In recent years the Department of Chemistry has conducted several training sessions for teachers, credited by the Scientific and Pedagogical Council for Further Education. These are intended to address the need for development of teachers of primary and secondary education in a perspective of lifelong learning and in accordance with the Statute of Teaching Career "to update and upgrade their knowledge, skills and competence within a perspective of learning throughout life, personal and professional development and improvement of performance".
These training activities also have an element of interaction with society, since teachers in their professional environment can play an important role in the development of scientific curiosity and motivation of their students in Chemistry.
